The first Tree of Hope planted at North Street

We are so excited to have our first beautiful Tree of Hope planted at the Jenny Black Cancer Wellness Centre today. This tree - a ginkgo - has pride of place as you walk in the front door of the centre. It was donated thanks to the generosity of Focus HR who have helped us to establish the strategy and vision for Hope Horizons moving into the future.

The ginkgo is a very special symbol for us. The Ginkgo biloba is one of the oldest living tree species in the world. It's the sole survivor of an ancient group of trees that date back to before dinosaurs roamed the Earth. It's so ancient, the species is known as a 'living fossil'.

The ginkgo is a symbol of resilience, healing & longevity and represents peace, hope, and vitality. All of the wonderful values we hold so dear. You will have been seeing the ginkgo used across all of our new marketing material, and now you know why!

Thank you to Jamie Ross Landscapes who has spent a long time finding this beautiful specimen, and to our resident volunteer gardener John for placing our tree in its forever home.
